Doing it right when no one is looking

This image is of the mould for one side of the Mach 2 front foil. You can see the main wing and the flap. Actually the word flap is interesting, and out of all the words in the dictionary has it probably has the greatest number of meanings. As an acronym it can also stand for Foreign Language Assistance Programme, and as a word it can mean a "flat usually thin piece attached at one side only"

Both of the above you might become familiar with if you loose yours on foreign soil. Yet if you look closely at the mould you will see something reassuring.. Can you guess?

The hinge is molded in making the wing/flap assy. one piece. or is it a full span one piece wing instead of 2 halves.

I think you'll find that 'set' has rather more meanings than 'flap'.

What's reassuring about it - it's not made out of cheese?

Pre bent flex skin hinge. Old hat, tried it and there are problems which I will not reveal. AMAC has borrrowed enough Stevo ideas for now.
Presently new in house developments still under cover.

bolt on replacement for X8 foil? ( with turned up tips?) Don't think you can geht flap to work on those turned up tips tho.

just the flap is interchangable? your image shows a longer chord flap at the tips, but foil section and sweep could be the same? the bullet fairing looks longer at the front so that suggests the main part of the foil is new..?

Yes. The flap is mechanically joined to the main foil in the molding process. Sell your shares in Sicaflex. And the bulb is a lot longer isnt it? Funny how AC keels have been going that way too.
